Hrusca Chronicles: The Resistance Of The Ler

S01E01 Flowers

It’s been 5 days since my last Ler dose, synthetic Ler that is… these days I can’t even dream of natural Ler
- I can’t take it no more man! Where is Maican?! I demand some Ler!, my new lieutenant was starting to loose it. He’s been like this for the last couple of days.
- McCallister!, I keep saying to him, Get a hold of yourself, I need you to think straight! We need to progress!
- We need to stay where we are, our men are weak, the AntiLer will crush us!
- Alright, let’s find a place to spend the night
We came across an abandoned story building, all 48 men were tiredly awaiting their orders.
- Set camp on the roof, we need to watch the area! said McCallister before crashing in front of the building
The building was in a dreadful state, the smell of Lershead was still there. I was glad it was night and I didn’t have to see the marks of the terrible atrocities that had happened there
Morning came and from the top I could see the imprint of the AntiLer over what used to be… I don’t even know where we are.
But wait, there is a patch of color… I put on my binoculars and can’t believe my eyes, its a garden of flowers. Actual flowers growing from the earth! If I could get those flowers I have a chance of making natural Ler
- Ello me bredda! Big up!, Maican is in the building. Wattagwan wid yuh man?! Lang time fi mi a wait?
- No, actually you’re quite on time, I need to ask you a favor
- Yuh did see dat? A who dat? said Maican while McCallister was trying to take his bag
- A who dat Hrusca? Him noh have noh broughtupsy!
- It’s OK, he’s my lieutenant
McCallister opened the bag and grabbed the biggest Ler
- Dat is fe mi bredda. Lissen mi nuh bwoy, mi a beg yuh stap fingle-fingle up di Ler. Dat cost dear
- It’s OK Jah Maican, let him have it. Tell me now, how was the fight on the coast line?
- Is aweful ting. Mi ah de ongle one dat did stay till it dun. Mi look pon dem soulless metal mascotclots, them be like fri fousand an dem a wan no good bunch.
- This means we have to move fast, but first I need to ask you to do something for me. Bring me half of the flowers in that garden
- Flowas inna de gyarden? Is bare dog down inna that yard
- I need them to make my own Ler
- Mi dun undastan yuh Hrusca, this a good Ler
- Yes Maican, but It’s not good for me. I would go there myself but I don’t want those people to see me like this
- Dat wicked man. Aright mi elp yuh wit dat problem
And Maican went to the house, and the dogs went to their cages and I saw him pick up the flowers and I feel relieved.
I went to tell McCallister, who was very Zen by now, that we needed to progress as soon as Maican returned.
The men were rested and ready, they had their Ler and nothing could stand in their way, unlike me who felt like a 300 year old reindeer.
I feel a pat on the back, it’s Maican and 2 civilians. My whole body freezes and I loose my words. I am not ready to face the people.
- Ya no see it but mi a did ya big good! Mi link yu up layta, nuh di ooman dem wanna stamina daddy, ya hear!
I did not know what to say. Luckily the man started talking
- Hrusca, we are honored we can help the Resistance of the Ler, whst else we can do to help you brave fighters?”
- You have done enough kind sir. We’re heading for the mountains, you may have our water so that you and your wife may grow back the flowers you gave us.

S01E02  The Lake

Once again we were on our way. We walked for days until I reached the end of my forces. McCallister and two men set out to recon the area. I could barely move but I had to lead the rest of the men. Eventually I leaned against a tree as I felt the whole forest was spinning with me.
- We found the lake! my lieutenant yelled from the distance.
- Come on Hrusca, lean on me. You know I saved you a piece of synthetic ler, for when you are ready to take it.
- I am glad you did and I beg of you to keep it as we might need it some day. As for me, I will make my own ler. Now take me to the lake.
When we got the the camp site, the fire was already started and the men were eating. I saw the big lake litten by the moonlight and jumped into the water.
As I swam to the bottom of the lake I felt nor tired nor hungry, nor warm nor cold and when I looked up and saw the two lights I knew exactly what I had to do.
I rose from the water like a weed monster, the plants and grass on my back were looking like a moss coat.
- Wait for me here my good men, I need to be alone for a couple of days…, I said leaving the campsite
- Let me at least send a few men with you, the monsters may come by at any time! yelled McCallister
- No need my friend, as I will not stand in their way
I walked and walked deep into the heart of the forest, until I found the tallest tree and climbed it.
From the top I could see the hills we crossed, the tall mountains ahead and the lake where the camp was.
The weeds on my back dried and formed now a worm blanked.
I once again knew where I was in the world.
On the 12th night it happened. The thing that scared me the most. The camp was attacked.
I saw the monsters heading for my men and fired a warning arrow but I could only kill a few beasts before the night covered the forest.
5 mored days I had to wait for the last rain of the season to stop.
In the morning of the first day of winter I went to the middle of the lake and made my Ler
As I was swimming to the campsite the Sun was getting brighter.
I arrived to find my men slaughtered, I burried 29 bodies of my closest friends and wend depper into the forest.
I had to find the rest of them.
